Pakhuis de Zwijger

Pakhuis de Zwijger is an accessible, independent and safe public meeting space for everyone. A contemporary ’talking house’ with a strong online media presence that focuses on dialogue as a form of conversation. A place where together we formulate ambitions and present different opinions and insights in order to arrive at creative solutions for the urgent and complex social issues of our time. Where we bring artists and designers together with scientists, policymakers, experts and citizens in all their diversity. Where together we visualise the cities and metropolises of tomorrow, test research results against the everyday practice and present technological and social innovation as alternatives to current policy and actual reality. And finally, above all, a place where we ask a lot of questions and tackle social issues as complex design assignments.

Bureau Marineterrein is an independent project planning office that has been working on the development of the Marineterrein since being tasked to do so by the government and the City of Amsterdam in 2013. The office is responsible for programming activities at the naval yard, use and maintenance of the buildings, selecting tenants, communication, and management of the outdoor space.

AHK Culture Club

AHK Culture Club is building a community of changemakers in the field of art, technology and science. At the Culture Club, it’s all about research and encounters. It is the place at the Marineterrein where students, researchers and teachers of the AHK share their insights, illustrate their research and show their skills. The stage at the Club is shaped like half a doughnut. This is a reference to the doughnut economy, an economic model, which includes a fair social foundation for everyone. The stage at the Culture Club belongs to and is for everyone.
