Opening Plenary – Challenges, Values and Shifts

Welcoming participants in Prague, this session sets the stage for a high-level policy conversation to explore the evolving role of culture in times of crisis—its public value, its place within or beyond industry, its resilience in the AI era, and its response to democratic decline. The session highlights the urgency of a competence-centered approach to guide cultural transformation.

16:30 – 18:00

Parallel Sessions

This panel explores the evolving landscape of skills and competences recognition in the cultural and creative sectors, with a specific focus on micro-learnings and micro-credentialing systems. It will examine how digital badges and short-form learning are transforming the ways competences are accredited and made visible across diverse contexts.

Participants will gain insights into how these models respond to the dynamic needs of cultural professionals and contribute to the development of inclusive, adaptable skills ecosystems.

This interactive session explores how the CYANOTYPES framework can catalyse systemic change and foster societal transformation. Participants will examine how cultural and creative competences—especially those tied to public agency and value-led innovation—can be mobilised to address complex, interrelated challenges.

Organised in collaboration with EIT Culture & Creativity, through its Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS), this session highlights strategic pathways for sustainable transformation. EIT’s approach supports the ideation, development, and implementation of initiatives that unlock the imaginative and systemic potential of the cultural and creative sectors.

Exploring mismatches between offer and demand

This dynamic panel discussion, guided by the Working Group on Green Transformation of the Creative Pact for Skills, explores the pressing challenges of the green transition within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). With a focus on the growing mismatch between existing training programmes and the evolving needs of the sector, the session will highlight insights and initiatives from key actors. Key topics include barriers to upskilling, strategies for inclusive and sustainable transformation, and the role of regional partnerships in strengthening training ecosystems. Participants will gain access to actionable tools like the GreenComp Pass and explore collaboration opportunities, policies, and education methods.

Ethics, Democracy, and Markets

This thought-provoking session explores the rapidly evolving impact of generative AI on our society, focusing on its ethical, democratic, and market implications. As digital transformation accelerates, artists and cultural professionals face both new opportunities and critical challenges. The discussion will examine how generative tools are reshaping creative workflows, ownership, and value systems, while also addressing concerns around bias, transparency, and access. Panelists will reflect on the role of policy, education, and collective action in ensuring that AI supports a fair, inclusive, and sustainable creative economy.
